Animals on The Farm
although we adore animals, our land is carefully tended by our livestock guardian dog (lgd), a pyrenese named maverick, whose instinct is to protect the farm from unfamiliar creatures. to keep our livestock safe and to support the work maverick does each day, we're unable to welcome visiting pets. bringing outside pets could create an unsafe situation for both your pets and ours.
you may see our lgd while you're hiking or joining a farm tour. he is gentle with humans- both big and small- but naturally shy. most often he will keep his distance or quietly slip away. we ask guests to honor his skittish nature by giving him space. please don't chase him, call to him, or try to pet him against his will.
as you explore the land, we invite you to enjoy the farm- watch the animals graze, listen to the rhythms of their day, and take in the landscape that surrounds them. we simply ask that this enjoyment remains visual. for your safety and theirs, please do not touch or feed the animals or their fencing and gates.
thank you for respecting the rhythms of the animals who call this place home, and for helping us keep the farm in harmony.
